Singer Songwriter Lanita Smith will make her national TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight! Today she also released her anticipated debut EP Listen To Your Heartbeat. The music video for title track Listen To Your Heartbeat is out now.
Guitar Center’s Singer-Songwriter 4 winner will perform songs from the 4-track EP on the late night show tonight, showcasing the soulful music and lyrics she poured her heart into for the last 6 months while in the studio with the legendary Don Was who produced the EP. From the sultry vibes on her first single I Love You, to the powerful anthem Fearless, and the emotional lyrics of Listen To Your Heartbeat, the versatile EP reveals her talent as a pianist and her musicality as a singer.
This year is going to be full of new ventures for Lanita Smith as she brings on new manager Mark Lamica, who has worked with, and managed a variety of Grammy award winning artists such as, the late and great Michael Jackson.

Lanita Smith is a native of Fayetteville, NC. Lanita’s love of music began while sitting next to the piano player at church. From taking private lessons to learning “by ear,” she has worked hard to perfect her skills as a pianist. Lanita later moved to Memphis, TN where she expanded her skill set to include the violin, saxophone, guitar, vocal performance, and songwriting. In 2015, Lanita was hand picked by Don Was as the winner for Guitar Center’s Singer Songwriter 4. Since then she has worked with artists such as, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, James Gadsen, and Don Was himself. Her debut EP Listen To Your Heartbeat was produced by Don Was. As part of her grand prize in the contest Lanita will perform the songs from the EP on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
